CHARLOTTE, NC – ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Zow, a U.S. subsidiary of Webuild Group, announced today that it has been determined the preferred team to design and construct a $582M modified phased design-build (MPDB) contract for a key portion of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Moving I‑4 Forward program, a strategic effort aimed at improving safety and travel reliability along one of Central Florida’s most important transportation corridors.

Moving I‑4 Forward is accelerating major transportation improvements 10 to 20 years ahead of earlier schedules, helping the region prepare for long‑term population and economic growth. The program is currently part of the largest infrastructure initiative underway in Florida.

As Florida continues to experience rapid growth, FDOT is actively addressing the state’s evolving infrastructure needs. Through the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative, FDOT is accelerating a series of projects in Central Florida to add two new Express Lanes in each direction along Interstate 4 (I-4) from west of U.S. 27 in Polk County to east of World Center Drive, State Road (S.R.) 536 in Orange County.

Benefits of the Moving I-4 Forward program will include:

  • Improved travel times by reducing congestion.
  • Increased safety and connectivity.
  • Enhanced quality of life for the community.
  • Strengthened infrastructure for future growth.

The newly awarded contract for Moving I-4 Forward Project 2 reconstructs and widens a 3.1-mile stretch of Interstate 4 from east of County Road 532 to west of World Drive in Osceola County. The project will reconfigure the State Road 429 interchange and provide new ramps to and from SR 538 Poinciana Parkway, all of which play a central role in regional transportation.

As part of this work, Lane will build two new express lanes in each direction along I-4, and new direct connectors between I‑4 and SR 429 / SR 538 to create smoother, safer movements for both general‑use and express‑lane traffic. The final configuration will expand the roadway to four general‑use lanes and two express lanes in each direction, a change expected to ease congestion during peak travel times.

In addition to interstate improvements, the project includes widening Old Lake Wilson Road from two to four lanes, adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides to promote connectivity and safety.

Florida has long been a core market for Lane, where the company has steadily expanded its footprint for more than three decades. Lane has since delivered many of Florida’s most recognized infrastructure projects and continues to maintain a strong pipeline of work statewide. The company is actively advancing multiple FDOT projects along the critical I-4 corridor such as the I‑4/SR 33 interchange in Polk County, the I‑4/SR 535 and I‑4/Sand Lake Road interchanges in Orange County, and the I‑275/I‑4 in Tampa, underscoring its longstanding role in improving the state’s busiest highways. Just last month, Lane accelerated construction on Florida’s Turnpike/State Road 91 in Minneola to open a third southbound lane nearly three years ahead of schedule.

ORLANDO, FL – Significant congestion relief has come sooner than expected for motorists traveling along Florida’s Turnpike (SR 91) between Hancock Road and U.S. 27, thanks to an accelerated construction effort on the widening project.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Zow, the U.S. subsidiary of Webuild Group, has advanced construction activities on Florida’s Turnpike/State Road 91 in Minneola to expedite the opening of a third southbound lane – nearly three years early (1,020 days ahead of schedule).

This fast-tracked schedule will ease congestion along one of Florida’s busiest corridors, improving connectivity, reliability, and safety for commuters and travelers. The seven-mile project from Minneola Interchange to north of O’Brien Road adds multiple lanes in both directions, two new ramp movements at U.S. 27, and enhances operational efficiency. This milestone is part of Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise’s broader mainline widening initiative, a critical investment to enhance capacity along a vital freight and hurricane evacuation corridor serving residents and more than 100 million visitors annually.

This achievement highlights Lane’s ability to deliver complex infrastructure ahead of schedule through innovation and collaboration. Building on this momentum, Lane completed the I-275 Section 7 Phase 1 project in Tampa early last year. From major highway expansions to advanced mobility solutions, Lane consistently sets the benchmark for performance and reliability—helping communities travel safer, faster, and smarter.

CHARLOTTE, NC – ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½Zow, the U.S. subsidiary of the Webuild Group, will modernize a critical stretch of Interstate 64 (I-64) in Norfolk, Virginia under a $389 million design-build contract commissioned by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The project is designed to improve travel efficiency and reliability along the Interstate 64 corridor by reducing congestion and offer managed lanes as an alternative during peak travel times in one of the East Coast’s most dynamic regions.

This award reinforces Lane’s leadership in delivering sustainable, resilient infrastructure in one of its key U.S. markets. The company is currently constructing the 4A/4B segment of I-64 from west of Denbigh Boulevard to east of LaSalle Avenue in the Hampton Roads District as well as a $61 million contract for the Minnieville Road Interchange in Prince William County, Virginia. It is also conducting taxiway pavement repairs at Naval Air Station (NAS) Oceana in Virginia Beach. The contract follows a recently secured $643 million award for the Westshore Interchange project in Florida.

The new project spans approximately seven miles of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) corridor. It will convert the three existing EB and WB general purpose lanes and shoulders into one part time, high-occupancy express shoulder lane and three General Purpose (GP) lanes in each direction, while widening and/or rehabilitating nineteen bridges and replacing two bridges along the route. These improvements are designed to enhance safety, reduce travel times, and ensure smoother traffic flow. Completion is scheduled for late 2029, with innovative design solutions aimed at minimizing disruption to traffic during construction and reducing long-term maintenance needs.

Lane’s recent delivery of the I-495 NEXT project in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and modernization work at Naval Air Station Oceana further illustrate the company’s role in advancing infrastructure that supports economic growth and more livable communities across the United States—Webuild’s third-largest market by revenue.
